The Bison stampeded out to an early lead by creating turnovers through their zone press and converting them into baskets through good ball movement. Watervliet came roaring back in the second quarter, however, and took the lead going into halftime.
New Buffalo regrouped at halftime and played well in the second half until some sloppy play down the stretch made the game a little too close for comfort. The Bison escaped with a 43-39 victory.
