RIVER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL: 39
The Bisons squeaked out a 41-39 victory against their rivals, the River Valley Mustangs. Moving the ball well and playing solid defense, our squad looked sharp in the first quarter and established a 17 -12 lead going into the second. The offense for New Buffalo sputtered in the second and third quarters with the team scoring only 6 in each quarter resulting in the Bisons nursing a 29 - 27 lead going into the 4th. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair with teams trading buckets. It was the Bison who prevailed in the end by taking the lead with 19 seconds to go. New Buffalo played solid defense throughout the night and it was the defense that brought them to victory down the stretch. Another game with a good effort by the whole team, good energy on the bench, and a good lift from the fans at our first home game.
