New Buffalo opened the 2016 campaign with a convincing 34-0 victory over the Wyoming Lee Rebels.  New Buffalo started the scoring in the first quarter with an Andrew Coffeen 3 yard qb sneak, set up by a Jonathan Cluster 45 yard run.  Cluster added to the scoring in the first half with touchdown runs of 51 and 34 yards along with two 2 point conversions.  The Bison headed into half with a 22-0 lead.  The third quarter saw both teams stall offensively, however, NB got back on track early in the 4th with an 11 yard TD strike to Nigel Durham. Jarvis Tarnowski finished the scoring with a 66 yard scamper with 5 minutes remaining in the game.                               

Not the be outdone by the offense, the defense held the Rebels to just 53 yards of offense on 33 carries.  The Bison defense was led by Jonah Bussa with 8 solo tackles, 2 of them for loss.  Tarnowski chipped in with 9 total tackles.  The longest play from scrimmage allowed by New Buffalo was a 17 yard run late in the game.

Offensively, Cluster finished with over 200 yards rushing, while Tarnowski amassed nearly 90 yards and Andrew Coffeen compiled 50 yards and a touchdown and Nigel Durham had 36 yards on 3 carries along with 2 receptions and a receiving touchdown.

The Bison travel to Centreville on Thursday, Sept 1st at 7:00pm.
